This is the same answer, really - if you're installing an Upgrade version of VL Live onto a computer that doesn't have a current copy of VL4 already in place, then you will need an "upgrade key" from us here at Church House Publishing.

Insert the VL Live Upgrade CD into your target computer. It will begin to try to install, but will quickly ask you for an upgrade key, and when it does it will show you a 4-character code on the screen that will be of the form WHYK or similar. Send that code to us in an email to visual.liturgy@c-of.e.org.uk together with the serial number of your registered copy of Visual Liturgy Live (beginning VL5....).

We will email you an upgrade key. You can then restart the installation of VL Live onto your target computer, and when that dialogue is displayed, you should enter the code, and installation will continue as normal.

For our team, we just installed the VL Live upgrade disk.

I had previously copied the Visual Liturgy 1.6 (Disk 1) files onto a cheap memory stick (£4.99) and when it asks for the original full version I browsed to the setup.exe file on the removable drive, and everything seems to be happy.

Hi - Knowing how many installs there would be in our team and knowing what hoops I had to jump through to install from v1 on a single PC, I am really glad (having read this thread) to have bought a full lience copy. Phew!!

Considering the problems that others are having.... I'd like to point out that if you do copy the 1.60 files onto a USB memory stick it will fool the installation... and that way each user won't have to phone up for a four digit code.

Word to the wise

I've just bought a lap top and have finally managed to get VLLive installed on it

My problem ended up being that I had made a typo on my original registration form and it is very fussy. Even if you have an upgrade key it won't work unless you get that bit right.

However thanks to a very nice man on the phone - phone works better than email.....

I am now up an running

hear angelic choirs and hallelujah choruses
