Installation problem with Windows 7 64bit

Help! My copy of Visual Liturgy has been running fine for over a year on my Windows 7 Pro 64 bit system. Now it won't start, or reinstall, claiming that the MSJET40 DLL is not suitable for running on the computer. A bit of probing reveals that there isn't a 64 bit version of the MSJET driver used to get to the Access database which underlies Visual Liturgy. However, the WOW emulator should stand in the gap and provide a 32 bit environment for running this DLL. Presumably it's been doing it's job for the past year, as I've only installed MS updates as far as I know. There have been some recent Microsoft updates in that area, but it's not all clear why it's suddenly stopped working. Has anyone else seen this problem, or is it something peculiar to my installation? I'm running Office Pro 2010 and have a lot of other software including MS Expression, Adobe CS4, Logos on this computer, so I am not at all keen to reinstall everything!

Installing on Team Members Computers

One of our team is having difficulty installing VL Live on her computer. I set up a Licence for her and generated the relevant codes, but these were not recognised by VL when she tried to register on installing the program. To try to fix the problem I decided to revoke her licence in order to re-enter the information in the hopes that she would then get a new number that would work, however, I am unable to enter the same details again as it says that the username and password is being used by another user. I am now unable to un-revoke the revocation! Can anyone help please?

Isssues installing new modiiules

I have just renewed an expired subscription (expired Dec 2009 renewed April 2010). I then ran an update which wanted to load two new updates, the calender and Times and Seasons.

After it all completed, I got a popup box informing me of some problems.

The file was:
[i]C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Visual Liturgy 5\importlog.txt[/i]

The contents were:
[i]Source table: rlc Dest table: rlc
Error importing: Could not update; currently locked.[/i]

The simple question is "Do I need to take any action?" VL Live restarted Ok with no warnings, when I shut it down and restarted and there were no outstanding up[dates.[/color]

Installing VL Live

We wish to install VL Live on to our new church PC (Windows 7) and to the PC of one Reader.

We have had VL since the Worshipmaster days. All our CD Rom are upgrade versions ( VL 3.0, VL 4.0 and VL Live).

I seem to rermember that last time I installed VL Live on a new PC, I had to go right back to an original floppy disk for VL 1.5. Is this right? If so, how do I get around the problem as the PCs I now use and the intended ones do not have a floppy disk drive.

I have been asked to go and install VL Live on the Reader's PC and I would like to know exactly what I have to do before I get there! I have already created a new team licence for the Reader.

Moving VL Live to Windows 7

Hi,

I would like to move my VL live software to a new Windows 7 PC. Will the software run on Windows 7?

As I previously upgraded from VL4 I have an upgrade version of the software CD. Does this mean I will need to install my old version of VL4 on the new PC before I can install my copy of VL Live and, if so, is this likely to cause any problems with Windows 7?

Visual Liturgy Shortcut Icons

I like to keep a clear desktop, with folders containing programs grouped by type, such as Utilities, Media, etc. I find it a great annoyance that every time I use VL, it creates icons on my desktop, even though I have moved copies of them to a folder. Is there any way of turning off this persistent creation of desktop icons?

Upgrading to Visual Liturgy Live

A number of parishes and organisations have contacted Church House Publishing to ask about the procedure for installing a Visual Liturgy Live upgrade pack.

VL Live is designed to upgrade smoothly from Visual Liturgy 4, and if VL 4 is already installed on your chosen computer, you should encounter no difficulties. If you have un-installed VL 4, or, as often seems to be the case, bought a new computer and not installed VL4 on it, then you should re-install VL4 before you insert the CD from your Visual Liturgy Live upgrade pack.

Installing VL live: error microsoft.mshtml not found

I have installed visual liturgy live which is working but every time the computer is started I get two error boxes. the first says
Error: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: File or assembly name Microsoft.mshtml, or one of its dependencies, was not found....

the second says

Error: System.InvalidOperationException: Cannot call or Invoke or InvokeAsync on a control until the window handle has been created....

How do I solve this?

How to register Visual Liturgy Live

The best way to do this is by filling in the form in Visual Liturgy Live and registering over the internet. The form will normally pop up each time VLL is loaded if you are un-registered but you can access the registration form through the file menu in Visual Liturgy itself.

Please make sure:

1. You are filling in your Visual Liturgy Live serial number into the allocated field. The serial number can be found on the label attached to the CD envelope in the Visual Liturgy box and always begins VL50CW… Please do not enter your serial number for Visual Liturgy 4 as this will not be successful.
2. You are not filling in the key number field at the bottom of the screen. This will get filled in once the form has been submitted and registration has been successful.
3. Your password meets the guidelines for security; it should contain between 6 and 12 characters including at least one upper-case character, and one number.
4. You are regsitered before you try to set your team licence as you need your log in name and password to be able to log into the Visual Liturgy Live website. To find out how to upgrade to a team licence please read the previous blog entry ‘Setting up your team licences’.

Can't find DOTNETFX.EXE

Some users are reporting difficulties in installing VL Live Upgrade version. The usual error message is "Can't find DOTNETFX.EXE". The problem is that VL Live is trying to install Microsoft software components that VL Live needs in order to run but the VL Live installer can't find the file it needs.
Here are some instructions for how to deal with this error.

1. Open My Computer or Windows explorer and navigate in the left-hand side to the drive which is labelled 'VL LIVE Upgrade', (as in windowsexplorer.jpg attached). If you can't automatically see your screen divided as in the picture, click on 'Folders' to enable you to see the tree structure of files.

2. Using the mouse, click on the plus sign to open up the folders until you can see the folder called 'dotnetfx'. You should see 'dotnetfx' on the right.

3. Double click on the file and it will run and you will see some Microsoft software being installed.

4. Navigate back to the 'VL LIVE Upgrade' folder (as shown in the donetfx2.jpg attached) and double click on the 'setup' program on the right.

This will install VL Live correctly.
